2021 CONCERT SEASON

"Turning the perception of chamber music on its head." ~Destination Cleveland
Celebrating bold new trends in chamber music, Underground Classical highlights musical ensembles that fuse classical music’s esthetic with contemporary musical styles. Our innovative concerts offer diverse and eclectic programming that strive to reimagine the traditional concert experience. We hope to reinvigorate the seasoned listener while inspiring new audiences through genre-bending performances. Oh, and did we mention they're free? Donations appreciated, but not necessary to attend!

"Underground Classical is a grassroots organization dedicated to "outside the box" performances. So many classically-trained musicians are exploring the crossroads of musical
forms and breaking down the boundaries of what was once possible as a classical musician. Underground classical is a home for that exploration. We need more series like
Underground Classical to break down the walls of genre boxes and simply invite people on the journey of connective and engaging music." ~Amanda Powell, vocalist with Apollo's Fire

OUR 2020 PERFORMANCES ARE POSTPONED TO THE SPRING OF 2021. WE WILL HOST PUBLIQUARTET, GENRE NOVA AND ALLA BOARA AT THAT TIME, AND MAYBE MORE!

"As someone who’s been working in the field of classical music for the past decade, it seems that many of the interesting groups that have emerged are exploring new ground between conventionally
defined genres of music. I found it to be so refreshing that a concert series, Underground Classical, lives in this space and encourages this spirit of exploration. We loved bringing our new music to
the amazing community that has formed around this concert series and I only wish that every city had something like this!"
~David Connor, bassist with the Houston Symphony
